Obama Sunrise

Obama Sunrise…2 oz Orange Vodka, 1oz Elderflower Liquor, Fill with OJ, Dash of Grenadine, Orange & Cherry garnish.

The stimulus bill signed by President Obama on Tuesday will not only pump hundreds of billions of dollars into the economy, it will fulfill a surprising number of the new president’s campaign promises.

Of the 510 promises being tracked by PolitiFact, the stimulus bill will fulfill or advance about 50 of them, a remarkable number for a president who has been in office only four weeks.

In some cases, Obama is boosting programs that were low priorities for the Bush administration. In others, he is using the bill to launch new programs that he says will simultaneously stimulate the economy and create incentives for new technology, clean energy and education.

And don’t think for 1 minute that I don’t have a major bone to pick with Obama’s stimulus package, and some missing “Fat”!!!…Seriously, Where’s the legislative provision for the new cabinet position of “Secretary of Mixology”, who of course would be me!!! (aka “Secretary DR Mixologist”)…Yes sir, I could keep the country tastefully inebriated until further notice of desirable economic sobriety. Remember “Change” has come to America, Mr. President…To be cont’d…Cheers!!!

This week I had the pleasure of being the mixologist for Savor the Success, a social network for female entrepreneurs. The event took place at Delluva Day Spa in NYC, where the business women displayed and demonstrated their product offerings and services. These women were very organized and emphatically passionate about their respective businesses.

At the event, I featured two signature cocktails: Success Rocks (White Wine, Calvados, Ginger Ale) & Savor Sparkles (Champagne, Calvados, Sparkling Cider, Cinnamon Sugared Flute). And not that I needed any convincing, but hands down, I am now, unquestionably, a true believer that women across all conceivable spectrums prefer sweeter cocktails (Savor Sparkles), regardless of the less-sweet alternatives (Success Rocks). Couple that sugar fix with a touch of champagne, as I did, and you may just have a room full of women chanting in “tongues” and then some…Fab!!!
